Frequently Asked Questions

At Speller Dog Daycare, we pride ourselves on offering an enriching and fun daycare service for all our canine clients. We will offer a range of activities, companionship and kindness to your dog, through group and individual activities. This improves a dog’s social skills along with offering basic training.

If you are interested in joining Speller Dog Daycare, please give us a call on 07405 457 542 or send us an email at [email protected]. We will be able to advise on our availability along with arranging a time for you to visit our daycare facility along with meeting your dog.

Yes, we will need to meet your dog to ensure that the daycare facility is suitable for you and your dog. This usually involves a 2-3 hour trial ‘Temperament Assessment’ where we will assess the suitably of daycare along with assessing the level of basic manners of the dog. Assessments are mandatory for all dogs and if we do not feel that you and your dog would be suitable in a daycare environment, we will not be able to accept your dog.

We accept dogs from 6 months of age (providing they have had their 2nd vaccinations).

Not necessarily, all male dogs are welcome up to the age of 1. Entire dogs over the age of 1 will be assessed and monitored on a dog by dog basis to ensure that there are no unwanted behaviours or disruption within the group.

Our collection times are between 17:00 – 18:00. The daycare facility closes at 18:00 sharp and all dogs must be collected prior to this time. If you are late you must let us know on 07405 457 542. You will be charged at 50% of the booking fee within the first hour of being late. After this time, the daycare facility will be closed and the dog can be collected the following morning. An overnight charge of £60 will then be applied.

All dogs must have completed vaccinations including: DHP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus) and Leptospirosis.

We also strongly recommend that your dog has been vaccinated against Kennel Cough (Bordetella Bronchiseptica/Canine Parainfluenza Virus).

We will also need details of when your dog was last treated for fleas/parasites and wormed.

Prior to your dog attending the ‘Temperament Assessment’, we will need to see a copy of your dog’s vaccination card.

The early stages of your dog’s life are fundamental to developing essential social and life skills. We will accept puppies from 6 months of age, providing they have had their 2nd round of vaccinations. We recommend that puppies attend the daycare facility on a half day basis as often a full day can be too much for them.

At Speller Dog Daycare we strive to understand what makes a dog happy. Our enrichment activities and 1-2-1 sessions aim to unlock the senses in order to provide physical and mental stimulation throughout the day. A general day will be made up of a combination of games, walks, challenges and of course quiet time to allow them to wind down.

Absolutely! At Speller Dog Daycare we believe it is crucial for dogs to be taken outside for at least 10 minutes every hour. If dogs are house-trained and are unable to go outside to relieve themselves, this can lead to medical issues, which we do not want to happen.

We will assess the situation and call you to discuss. If we are unable to get hold of you and urgent medical attention is required, we will take your dog to our nominated veterinary practice. We have consent to act as guardians to ensure that your dog is always given the best support.

If your dog is used to having lunch or follows a strict dietary procedure, we will ensure that their routine is followed. We ask all owners to provide their dog’s food in a clearly marked sealed container.

All dates and times are confirmed at the time of booking. Should you need to cancel for any reason we ask for a minimum of 24 hrs notice otherwise we reserve the right to charge for the booking.

We accept card (including contactless), cash and bank transfers. Fees are payable in advance of the booking or at the time of drop off.
