Speller Dog Daycare – Terms & Conditions:

 

To keep Speller Dog Daycare a safe environment for your pet, all dogs and owners must adhere to the following Terms and Conditions:

 

1.     By registering your dog(s), you (the owner) represent that you are the legal owner of the named dog(s) and assume all risks, dangers and responsibility for injuries or illnesses caused to or by the named dog(s).

1a. You declare that your dog(s) is not on the dangerous dogs list.

2.     You agree that, in registering with Speller Dog Daycare, the information that they have provided can be relied upon. By providing emergency contact details you confirm that you have the express permission from the named person and that they are aware of their responsibilities as an emergency contact.

3.     Your emergency contact will be contacted only in the event that reasonable efforts have been made to contact you, the owner, without success. The emergency contact will act on your behalf and make decisions accordingly for the best interests of your dog(s). This may include but is not limited to collecting the dog or advising on a required course of medical treatment.

4.     All dogs must pass a general temperament assessment to attend Speller Dog Daycare. No dog may be admitted that shows any signs of any type of aggression. You confirm that your dog(s) is friendly to other dogs and humans. Any dog demonstrating aggression or other behaviour deemed to be unacceptable by Speller Dog Daycare staff may be required to leave the daycare, irrespective of the length of time the dog has been registered with Speller Dog Daycare.

 

5.     You confirm that your dog(s) is fit and healthy to take part in any activities whilst at Speller Dog Daycare and is capable of play and exercise with other dogs unless specifically noted on Speller Dog Daycare’s registration form. All dogs will partake in physical exercise whilst attending the daycare. This will typically involve a minimum of two 20-minute, sessions of play within the enclosed exercise area or walks around the facility. Should this not be suitable for your dog(s) then this should be identified on the registration form and an alternative exercise plan can be arranged.

6.     You agree to allow your dog(s) to be taken out of the daycare premises, on lead, for walks around the facility or within the local area. Your dog will also be free to play off lead within the enclosed outdoor area. The outdoor play area is enclosed within 6ft fencing, should your dog(s) present a risk of escaping this area then this should be made clear on Speller Dog Daycare’s registration form. Should this not be identified on the registration form, Speller Dog Daycare will not be held responsible for any dog(s) that escape the facility. Speller Dog Daycare reserve the right to refuse a dog that pulls too much on a lead or who may present a risk of escaping.

7.     You agree that your dog(s) will attend Speller Dog Daycare wearing a suitable collar and must have been microchipped.

8.     You agree to provide your own dog food should your dog require feeding during their stay at Speller Dog Daycare. You will confirm the portion requirements and timings of your dog’s meals at the point of registration. Speller Dog Daycare will, where practicable, maintain these requirements. Should the customer not provide the food then Speller Dog Daycare will feed your dog(s), if they are due to be fed during the course of their stay, a quality dry product. This will be chargeable back to the owner.

9.     You confirm that your dog(s) is healthy and will at all times whilst attending Speller Dog Daycare, have current vaccinations (Speller Dog Daycare strongly advises that this includes Kennel Cough however this is at the owners discretion) and regular treatment for worms, ticks and fleas. You will provide Speller Dog Daycare with an up-to-date copy of your dog(s) vaccination record annually. You are not registering any dog with Speller Dog Daycare that has any condition that could potentially jeopardise the health of other dogs or people and has not had or been exposed to any potentially communicable condition/disease/illness within 21 days prior to registering/attending. You also understand that even if your dog is vaccinated for Kennel Cough there is a chance that Kennel Cough can still be contracted. You agree that you will not hold Speller Dog Daycare responsible if your dog(s) contracts Kennel Cough.

9a. Speller Dog Daycare reserves the right to refuse admission if you fail to provide adequate proof of vaccinations.

10.  Female dogs who come into season will not be able to attend Speller Dog Daycare for the duration of their season (usually 2 – 3 weeks).

11.  Entire male dogs will not generally be accepted into daycare beyond 12 months of age. We do however acknowledge that each dog is an individual and will not always present any unwanted behaviours even when intact.  Entire male dogs who attend daycare will be closely monitored to ensure their intact status does not adversely affect the behaviour and temperament of other dogs in daycare. Speller Dog Daycare reserve the right to exclude entire male dogs from the daycare at any time.

12.  At Speller Dog Daycare all dogs will be mixed within the same social group, this includes dogs under one year of age. In signing our registration form and agreeing to these terms and conditions you hereby give Speller Dog Daycare permission to mix the dogs in this way. All dogs will be monitored and observed at all times, any dog who is not integrating with the group will be provided with their own separate space.

13.  You must have appropriate insurance to cover your dog(s) personal injury in the unlikely event of an incident. Alternatively, you agree to cover any costs relating to accidents that may occur at the daycare which result in injury to your dog. All interaction and dog play will be monitored by daycare staff to avoid incidents however, you understand your dog(s) may sustain accidental injuries and agree to cover any veterinary fees pertaining to your dog. Speller Dog Daycare nor its employees will accept responsibility for the death, injury or illness of your dog whilst at daycare. You are strongly advised to insure your pet for all eventualities.

14.  We reserve the right to act in the best interest of your dog at all times, this includes seeking veterinary advice if your dog becomes ill. We will contact you immediately should your dog become ill. If you or your emergency contact cannot be contacted within a reasonable time or have chosen not to be contacted, we reserve the right to seek appropriate and swift veterinary attention and proceed with treatment regardless of costs, which you agree to cover. You agree to and give full consent to the veterinary centre to treat your pet. We will do everything needed for the dog with regards to treatment, comfort and recovery. If euthanasia is absolutely necessary (as determined by the vet) for whatever reason you accept that Speller Dog Daycare will act upon the vet’s advice.

15.  During your dog’s stay, your dog may be photographed, and these images may be used on Speller Dog Daycare’s website, social media outlets and printed literature. Should you not wish for images of your dog(s) to be used in this way then please make Speller Dog Daycare aware of this request in writing.

16.  Any dog which is not collected after a period of more than 7 days, without any form of contact from the owner or emergency contact, will become the property of Speller Dog Daycare. At this point Speller Dog Daycare will look to find a new suitable home for the dog at their discretion.

Payment and Cancellation Policy

1.     All dates and times are confirmed at the time of booking. Should you need to cancel for any reason we ask for a minimum of 48hrs notice.

 

2.     Payment is required in advance of attending the daycare booking or at the time of dropping off your dog(s).

 

3.     Should less than 48hrs notice of cancellation be given, the full booking fee will be applicable.

 

4.     If you drop off your dog late or collect them early, you will not be entitled to receive a refund or partial refund.

 

5.     Drop off and collection times can be found on the ‘Services’ page of our website (www.spellerdogdaycare.co.uk). The daycare facility closes at 18:00 sharp and all dogs must be collected prior to this time. If you are late, you must let us know on 07405 457 542. You will be charged at 50% of the booking fee within the first hour of being late. After this time, the daycare facility will be closed, and the dog can be collected the following morning. An overnight charge of £60 will then be applied.

 

6.     Any booking that exceeds 5.5hrs will automatically be classified as a Full Day and charged for accordingly.

 

 

 

 

The Groomery at Speller Dog Daycare – Terms & Conditions:

 

To maintain a safe and professional environment for all pets, all clients must adhere to the following Terms & Conditions:

General: 

1.     By agreeing to these Terms & Conditions, you (the owner) confirm that you are the legal owner of the named dog(s) and accept responsibility for any damage or injury caused by your dog(s), except where resulting from the negligence of The Groomery.

2.     You confirm that your dog is not subject to any restrictions under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 and has not been legally declared dangerous.

Appointments:

1.     All grooming services are strictly by appointment only.

2.     You must arrive on time for your scheduled appointment. Arrivals more than 15 minutes late may need to be rescheduled and charges may still apply.

3.     The Groomery reserves the right to reschedule or cancel appointments where necessary including but not limited to staff illness, emergencies, or operational requirements.

Cancellations & No-Shows:

1.     All appointments are confirmed at the time of booking. A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required for any cancellations or changes.

2.     Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice will incur a charge of 50% of the appointment fee.

3.     A non-refundable deposit of £20 is required at the time of booking to secure your appointment. This will be deducted from the final grooming fee and will be forfeited in the event of late cancellation or no-show.

4.     Where at least 48 hours’ notice is provided, deposits may be transferred to a rescheduled appointment or refunded.

Late Collection: 

1.     You agree to collect your dog(s) promptly at the agreed time.

2.     A 15-minute grace period is permitted. After this time, a charge of £5 per 15 minutes will apply.

3.     Dogs not collected before closing time (18:00) will incur an overnight care charge of £100 in addition to the grooming fee. Collection will be arranged for the following day. 

4.     The Groomery is not a boarding facility; overnight stays are for emergency situations only.

5.     If a dog is not collected and no contact has been made within a reasonable period including contacting relevant authorities or animal welfare organisations, The Groomery reserves the right to take appropriate action to ensure the welfare of the dog, in line with applicable laws.

Health & Safety:

1.     You confirm that your dog(s) are in good health with up to date vaccinations, as well as regular flea, tick and worming treatments.

2.     You agree to inform The Groomery of any medical conditions, allergies or behavioural concerns prior to each appointment.

3.     The Groomery reserves the right to act in the best interests of your dog at all times, including modifying or stopping the groom where necessary or seeking veterinary advice. Every effort will be made to contact you in advance.

4.     In the event of an emergency where you cannot be reached, you authorise The Groomery to seek appropriate veterinary treatment using The Groomery’s registered veterinarian and act on professional advice. Any associated costs will remain the responsibility of the owner.

5.     The Groomery reserves the right to refuse or discontinue grooming if a dog is deemed unwell, unsafe, or if grooming would compromise their welfare.

6.     Veterinary approval may be requested where necessary. If a dog is presented unwell, grooming may be refused and a charge of up to 50% of the scheduled grooming fee may apply at the discretion of The Groomery.

7.     If fleas or parasites are identified, treatment will be carried out immediately to prevent contamination. A fee of £25 will be added to the final bill.

8.     While all reasonable care is taken, The Groomery cannot guarantee a completely risk-free environment.

Medical Exclusions: 

1.     The Groomery does not provide veterinary or medical procedures under any circumstances.

2.     This includes, but is not limited to, anal gland expression, ear plucking, wound treatment, or administration of medication.

3.     Where such procedures are required, we advise seeking advice and treatment from a qualified veterinary professional.

4.     Dogs presenting with medical concerns, injuries, or active conditions may have their grooming modified, postponed, or refused in the interest of welfare.

5.     The Groomery will always prioritise the comfort, safety, and wellbeing of your dog during any grooming session. 

Special Care Dogs (Puppies, Seniors, Pregnant & In-Season Dogs)

1.     Special Care Dogs are groomed with additional care, consideration and individual attention.

2.     You agree to inform The Groomery if your dog falls into any of these categories or if their condition changes prior to the appointment.

3.     Grooming may be modified, shortened or stopped at any stage where it is deemed in the best interest of your dog’s health, safety or wellbeing.

4.     The Groomery reserves the right to refuse or discontinue grooming where necessary.

5.     These dogs may present an increased risk during grooming, which you accept at the time of booking.

Puppies

1.     Puppies (under 6 months of age) are accepted, following completion of their primary vaccinations.

2.     Grooming may be introduced gradually through shorter, positive sessions.

3.     Puppies must be comfortable with basic handling and grooming equipment exposure.

4.     Grooming may be adjusted or shortened if a puppy becomes stressed.

5.     Additional time and care may apply.

Senior & Medically Vulnerable Dogs

1.     These include dogs showing age-related or health-related vulnerability affecting grooming tolerance.

2.     You agree to disclose any relevant medical or mobility concerns prior to each appointment.

3.     Grooming may be adapted or shortened where required for welfare.

4.     The Groomery reserves the right to refuse grooming if it is not in the dog’s best interest.

Dogs in Season

1.     Dogs in season are not accepted for grooming appointments.

2.     If your dog comes into season, you must notify The Groomery as soon as possible to reschedule.

3.     Failure to notify may result in cancellation and your deposit will be forfeited.

Pregnant Dogs

1.     Pregnant dogs are accepted at The Groomery’s discretion and subject to the dog’s condition.

2.     Late-stage pregnancy dogs are not accepted due to increased risk.

3.     Grooming will be limited to low-stress, welfare-focused services and may be adjusted as needed.

4.     For the safety and wellbeing of both the pregnant dog and her unborn puppies, we may require the owner to remain on the premises or be present during the grooming appointment.

5.     You must disclose pregnancy status at booking.

6.     The Groomery reserves the right to refuse or discontinue grooming if necessary.

Behaviour & Aggression:

1.     If a dog displays aggressive or unsafe behaviour, The Groomery reserves the right to stop the grooming session. Charges will apply for work completed up to that point.

2.     Muzzles or other safety equipment may be used where necessary and appropriate to ensure the safety of both the dog and groomer.

Matting Policy: 

1.     Heavily matted coats may conceal underlying skin conditions, parasites, or injuries. Where possible, we will attempt to contact you prior to proceeding.

2.     If contact cannot be made, you authorise The Groomery to proceed in the best interests of your dog’s welfare.

3.     Severely matted coats may require clipping short to prevent pain and discomfort.

4.     De-matting charges apply at £15 for the first 30 minutes and £25 per 30 minutes thereafter.

5.     The Groomery and its employees do not accept liability for irritation, minor injuries, or pre-existing conditions revealed during or after grooming as a result of matting except where resulting from negligence.

Accidents & Injuries

1.     You accept that grooming carries a small inherent risk and that minor injuries may occur, particularly in cases involving matted coats or behavioural challenges.

2.     You agree to cover any veterinary costs arising from incidents involving your dog whilst in our care, unless directly caused by the negligence of The Groomery.

Pricing & Payment 

1.     Prices are from and are based on your dog being cooperative and accustomed to a consistent professional grooming routine:

           a.      4–6 weeks for wool coats

           b.     6–8 weeks for long coats

           c.      8–12 weeks for short coats

2.     The coat must be well maintained between appointments, remaining free from tangles, knots, and matting through regular home care.

3.     The requested style must be achievable within a standard grooming timeframe, based on coat condition and maintenance.

4.     Additional charges may apply where extra time, care, or specialist handling is required, including but not limited to:

a.      dogs requiring additional support due to behaviour, sensitivity, or lack of grooming experience

b.     coats that are matted, impacted, or poorly maintained

c.      dogs that are significantly oversized or overweight for their breed

d.     dogs with health conditions, injuries, or physical limitations requiring a modified approach

e.     dogs that are nervous, anxious, or require a slower, more considered grooming process

5.     Payment is due in full upon completion of the service and prior to collection.

Photographs & Marketing:

1.     Your dog(s) may be photographed during their appointment. Images may be used for marketing purposes, including social media, website content, and printed materials.

2.     If you do not wish for your dog’s images to be used, you must inform The Groomery in writing prior to your appointment.

3.     Images will not include personal identifying information without consent 

Personal Belongings:

1.     The Groomery is not responsible for loss or damage to collars, leads or accessories. 

Liability

1.     While every care is taken, all grooming is undertaken at the owner’s risk.

2.     By using our services, you agree not to hold the business liable for any unforeseen issues unless due to negligence. 

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
