Our Story
Our story all starts with a dog, a full-time job and an obvious necessity. We were becoming just another dog owner who complained about how difficult it was to find somewhere that we could trust for our dog to go whilst we weren’t at home. We wanted our dog to enjoy everyday. So, with a passion for ensuring that dogs deserve the best and the determination to build a dog retreat ensuring socialisation, enrichment and kindness, Speller Dog Daycare was formed.
Located in the heart of the Vale of Belvoir, Speller Dog Daycare offers a distinguished dog daycare service, situated within a picturesque, quiet, unique setting, surrounded by countryside. We will ensure that your dog is relaxed, happy and stimulated, so you can be satisfied knowing that your dog is cared for during the hours when you are unable to.
Afterall, they do deserve it.
The Groomery
As Speller Dog Daycare has grown, so too have the needs of our clients. That’s why we were excited to expand our services to include professional dog grooming. Our goal is to offer a convenient, all-in-one destination where your dog can receive the highest standard of care, whether they’re spending the day with our daycare dogs or enjoying a relaxing grooming session.
With the same passion, kindness and commitment that built our daycare, we wanted to create a grooming experience that is calm, caring and tailored to each individual dog, ensuring they feel comfortable and relaxed throughout their visit. Whether it’s a bath, tidy-up, a full groom or regular coat maintenance, every dog is treated with patience, understanding and the highest standard of care.
The Groomery’s aim remains the same as it always has been – to provide a place where dogs are happy, cared for and truly put first.
What Makes Us Different?
The Speller Standard of Care: Whether your dog is joining us for daycare or grooming, their wellbeing will always come first. We take the time to understand each dog’s individual personality, needs and preferences, allowing us to provide care that is tailored to them. We believe that trust, patience and kindness are essential in everything we do and we will never compromise on the physical or emotional welfare of the dogs in our care. Every decision we make is guided by one simple principle: treating your dog as if they were our own.
The Daycare Experience:
- We will only accept suitable dogs: We work hard ensuring that we only have the right dogs at Speller Dog Daycare. Our Temperament Assessments are designed purely to ensure that you and your dog will suit daycare. There is no charge for this service, as we believe it is important to ensure that your dog is happy in the daycare environment. Daycare doesn’t suit every dog, for instance, if you have a shy or nervous dog, or a dog that doesn’t get on well with other animals, daycare may not be the best option for them. If, over time, your dog does not seem happy within the daycare environment, we will turn away paying customers based on protecting the dog’s physical and emotional wellbeing.
- Outdoor Space: At Speller Dog Daycare, we offer more than simply a shelter for your dogs. Our secure, outdoor enclosure allows daycare dogs to frequently go outside, whether that is to relieve themselves or for enrichment activities. There is no need for us to take your dogs anywhere else. We have everything on our doorstep!
The Grooming Experience:
- Your Dog’s Comfort Comes First: We understand that grooming can be an unfamiliar or stressful experience for some dogs. That’s why we take the time to get to know each dog, working at their pace and ensuring that that they feel safe, comfortable and reassured throughout their appointment. We believe that a positive grooming experience is just as important as the finished result.
- More Than Just Looking Good: Grooming is about far more than appearance. Regular grooming plays an important role in your dog’s overall health, helping to maintain a healthy coat and skin, improve comfort and identify any concerns that may require further attention. Our priority is to ensure that your dog leaves feeling as good as they look.
